LAMDA
London
Academy of Music and Dramatic Art
CATS
offers tuition in all LAMDA courses and examinations including the
popular Verse and Prose and Acting exams.
LAMDA
tuition is an excellent way to work in depth on developing acting skills,
a good standard of speech, confidence, imagination and expression. The
candidate works in depth with the tutor on chosen pieces and then, when
ready, performs them to an examiner in order to obtain the relevant
grade.
Candidates
can chose to work on an individual basis in the Poetry and Prose, Mime,
or Acting sections, or to work as a pair or larger group in the Group
Acting, Group Mime or Group Improvisation sections.
LAMDA
qualifications are very highly valued and hold increasing importance as
entry requirements into some secondary schools.
LAMDA
examinations are available for children aged four up to adulthood. In
Verse and Prose and Acting sections, Grades one to eight can be achieved
and can then be followed by bronze, silver and gold medals.
Ann
Crawley, Principal of LAMDA Examinations says, “What
is offered through our examinations programme and what leads to its
increasing popularity is, in truth, very simple. It represents a route by
which anyone can unlock and discover their unique potential, and the
broad range of subjects and grades serves this purpose. Individuals are
empowered in all areas of their everyday lives by developing a confidence
and a clarity of expression and communication – and one which remains,
uniquely, their own.”
LAMDA examinations
can be passed, passed with Distinction, or passed with Honours – the
highest mark.
CATS entered 29
candidates for various LAMDA examination in May 2002. The candidates
ranged from age five to fifty. The results achieved by CATS for their
candidates were as follows:
9
passes with Distinction 20 passes with Honours
